The Verb Garden is a creative marketing communication and public relations consultancy that can turn your words into action - or simply write the words for you. Based in Dubbo in central west NSW, The Verb Garden is headed by Donna Ambler who brings more than 25 years of experience in journalism, public relations and marketing communications. Donna has an extensive background in writing copy to meet the needs of a target audience, as well as identifying the communication needs of stakeholders and potential markets.
With a BA in Communication, Donna’s experience includes editorial and advertorial writing for local, regional, suburban and metropolitan newspapers, particularly in the suburbs of Sydney. She has worked in public relations, communication and policy development roles with local and state government in Sydney and regional NSW. She also has a Master of Arts in Organisational Communication from CSU.
Her success as an event manager tells you that Donna’s work involves a high level of coordination and planning. She is constantly juggling multiple tasks and is renowned for the high quality of her work, attention to detail and for producing results on time and within budget.
What makes her tick?
In what little spare time she has after ferrying her two teenage sons around, Donna is a slow runner, a bit lousy at netball and an enthusiastic member of a book club. This year she has conquered a few mildly athletic challenges, including the 30km Kirribilli to Bondi Coastrek Sydney walk in support of the Fred Hollows Foundation; her first (and last) half marathon in the Dubbo Stampede; and 138km over 16 days to support the Run Against Violence.
In recent years she has been engulfed in volunteer work, from chairing the board of a not-for-profit organisation to being a soccer coach and registrar, managing a junior cricket team and is in a book club.
Donna is a country girl at heart who loves a good laugh and enjoys a G&T after a hard day’s work. After a few glasses of bubbly, she has been known to laugh really, really loudly.
